How Sweet the Name of Jesus Sounds....

I spent the summer of 2005 in Las Cruces, New Mexico, and got some great exposure to the Gospel through University Presbyterian Church, the church I attended weekly that entire summer. I was also so very blessed to be exposed to RUF at NMSU at the insistance and urging of my mama. It was there, that summer, that I first heard "How Sweet the Name of Jesus Sounds," a hymn that instantly became my favorite. Little did I know, that hymn is also my brother's favorite, and it was used in his wedding that summer.

Everytime I hear the words of that hymn, I am reminded of just how much I am loved. There really is no other name that provides as much comfort and assurance at the mere utterance.

Today, I was able to talk to my supervisor at Joni and Friends and get some questions answered to further solidify things in preperation for my stay in Agoura Hills! Before getting off the phone, Katie prayed for me, and she addressed needs that are still pending, and she prayed that all of those needs be met, and that I would not be anxious at all about anything. It was so nice, and so reassuring that I am being prayed for on a daily basis. I am being prayed for by people I do not even know. And my heart is thankful.

How sweet the Name of Jesus sounds
In a believer’s ear!
It soothes his sorrows, heals his wounds,
And drives away his fear.

Amen.
