So, we are just about exactly 30 days out from the biggest adventure of my life to date. I am so excited for this opportunity, but I am not even going to lie. I am pretty nervous as well. Going to a new place has its advantages, sure. However, I still kind of feel like it's the first day of middle school all over again. Big place. New people. New possibilities. Then you wonder if you'll fit in, if people will like you, if you will make friends quickly, easily...
In the next month leading up to this trip, my pastor, church administrator and I plan on really nailing down the last particulars. Pray that all of that goes smoothly.
Packing for a three month trip is a little overwhelming, so if any of you guys have tips, be sure to share them. :)
My pastor informed me that at some point in the coming weeks, I will be commissioned. That kind of makes this all...a bit more real. I have never done anything like this, and it really is a thrill to be able to go away from all that I know and all of my comforts to do work for the good of God's Kingdom.
Thanks, again, to all of you who have been supportive of me in this journey. Your prayers mean more to me than you know. Thanks to all who have prayerfully donated money. I literally would not be doing this without all of you. I still have a ways to go yet in the coming weeks in the area of support, so if you guys know of people who would be interested in making a TAX DEDUCTIBLE DONATION, please share this blog with them.
I will be be sure to update you all on anything new and exciting. You can bet that updates will come more frequent as time draws nearer.
Grace and Peace, guys!
