This week marks six years since my daddy passed away, and I have been thinking of him a lot this weekend. I heard a song just a bit ago that he enjoyed called "King of the Road," and for whatever reason, that song made me think of updating my blog (maybe because the song is about finding a place to stay while on the road?)...
I have had a lot of people ask me how support raising is going. It is going. Slow and steady wins the race, right? I have raised $5233 so far, and need to double that by August 15. Yes, I know that that is a lot of money for a three month stay, but, I am 100 percent responsible for everything from transportation (airfare and public transit), lodging, (which given that I have special circumstances, I cannot very well get by with the bare necessities here. As of right now, it is still looking like my best and most accessible option is going to be some sort of extended stay hotel) food, and miscellaneous items I will need while there (deodorant, shampoo, and renting a chair to use while there).
I am thankful for the friends I have who have put feelers out for me in hopes of having some sort of answer about housing, but I am also thankful that the headquarters where I will be working is located somewhere where there are neighboring hotels as an option.
I do not yet know what my needs are, but I am thankful that God knows, and that he is going ahead of me to prepare the way. I am thankful that I will be well provided for.
These are exciting times and terrifying times all at the same time. As August draws nearer, I get even more excited. Thank you all for all of your continued love, support and prayers. If you or anyone else is interested in donating, just follow the link below my picture to the right of this page.
Grace and Peace, Guys!
