So, as I am winding down my three weeks or so to my Agoura Hills adventure, I was able to breathe a sigh of sweet relief this afternoon as I had a conference call with my supervisor, and pastor. I am so incredibly blessed and thankful to have a pastor like Tom Cannon. The love and care that I get from him as a pastor and the congregation of Red Mountain Church at large is truly overwhelming at times.
So, as far as update goes...
Thanks to a jury notice notification that my supervisor received, my start date has been bumped back to August 20, instead of August 15. That is five extra days to stress over how to pack for eight weeks! :)
There In my independent research, I have been looking for and praying for the best option for housing. I am pleased to announce that the hotel that I was believing to be my best option, is the hotel that has unanimously decided upon, because...get THIS--it is in the SAME PARKING LOT as where I will be working! Yay! No fighting traffic and waiting on the perpetually late public transit system for work! The lack of needing transportation for work porposes frees up money to be used in other areas. So, the nightly rate for the Sheraton (at the special discount) is $100! Sure, you multiply that by a two months stay, and it is not exactly Baltic Avenue (Monopoly reference!), but it is not exactly Park Place, either! From my understanding, the staff at this hotel is very familiar with accomodations for people with disabilities, so woohoo! I will gladly stay here for convenience and piece of mind. They also have a complementary shuttle that covers a five mile radius! Woohoo, amenities!
There is an accessible shuttle service that I can take from the airport to where I am staying that is $40, which is a heck of a lot better than a cab and its rates.
Slowly but surely things are piecing together, but I still need your prayerful and financial support. Any amount is so greatly appreciated, and tax deductible!
