I love inside jokes. I love when things that really aren't meant to be jokes turn in to something funny.
A few weeks ago, I was texting back and forth with my friend, Fayelle. I was telling her that I was working on a particular blog post, and that I was wanting it to be great, and not "word vomit." She encouraged me to just take my time on it, and let it marinade for a while. She said, "Whatever it is, J, don't force it. If it is truly meant to be said, God will give you the right words, whether it be tonight or another day." I assured her that she would get the first read, and if she felt it was "post worthy," I would post it at that time. I wanted her input. By the way, the post to which I am referring is the "points of view," which was finally posted last week.
When I e-mailed Fayelle, I asked for her honest opinion. After all, everyone from Alabama, California and anywhere and everywhere in between are keeping tabs on my blog thanks to Katie Brooks' stellar marketing skills. (She forwarded the blog address to the free world!) It has to be stellar!
So, anyway, I e-mail Fayelle. She pretty much responded with, "DUDE! So, good!" I was pretty proud of that post, too, if I am being honest about it! (We will come back to the "dude" in just a minute!)
Well, as I was going to work that morning, Joni, herself was just arriving. She calls out from her van, "Julie-Anne, don't go in just yet!" Well, when "Her Rolling Highness" speaks, I am quick to listen, and eager to oblige!
So, she is backing out of her van, and Bedford is quick to go place his head on her lap. (He does this with me all the time) To see those two together is quite precious. :-)
Joni expresses interest to have lunch as soon as possible, which is pppprrrreeetttyyy much my dream come true. :-) *insert happy dance here* In addition, she asks me to ask Katie to send her my blog information again. Being the uber eager intern that I am, I told her that I would e-mail it to her myself. (By the way, I am still doing the happy dance internally like nobody's business.)
So, we part ways. I go to the right, she goes upstairs. I am getting set up for the day, and sharing with the people around me that I have finally posted a new blog post that was three weeks in the making. As I am sharing this, I forward the link on to Joni. I was sharing with my little cubicle buddies the wonderful "DUDE!" response that I had received that morning...when my laptop dinged. I had received an e-mail...from Joni!
I shrieked, "Hoooooooooooollllyyyy wow. Oh, my! I just got..." and my co-worker, Melissa, pipes up and asks, "What? Did you just get 'dude-ed' by Joni?"
I totally did. Her e-mail was praising the awesomeness of my blog. MY blog? Awesome?!
I then just said, "I TOTALLY got "DUDE"-ed by Joni Earekson Tada!"
I then turn to Katie and say, "Well, you have been wanting a shirt idea...I have one! 'I got DUDE-ed by Joni Fall 2012!'"
Everyone laughed. Melissa then says, "What is your blog address? I want to 'DUDE!' you now!"
So, now the new verb around the CID is DUDED, and it is still quite funny.
Katie expressed concern that it sounds too much like "doodie," but..we are all still laughing about it.
Well, happy Tuesday, gang. Have you "dude-ed" me today?
:) This helps. Katie Brooks sounds fabulous by the way!

Dude - that was so cute :) Thanks for sharing your thoughts. How long are you in CA? My memory fails me (old age)...
